VATICAN CITY - Activists angered by Pope Benedict XVI’s recent comment about gay marriage have held a small protest in St. Peter’s Square during the pontiff’s weekly address there.

The protesters carried signs in several languages, including ones saying: "Marriage for All" and "Homophobia (equals) death."

An Associated Press journalist saw police quickly seize placards from four of the protesters who entered the square Sunday as pilgrims and tourists were watching the pope appear at his studio window.

In his annual peace message released by the Vatican on Friday, the pontiff called gay marriage, and abortion, threats to peace.

The organizers of the protest issued a statement saying: "Gay unions don’t harm peace. Weapons do."

This is but the latest in a series of increasingly vitriolic, vicious and logically fallacious statements from the Curia. At this rate, I don’t think know how Rome will avoid excommunicating all LGBT Catholics as sub-human filth and a threat to the very survival of the Reich ... errr ... Church. (We already can’t serve as clergy, even if celibate--a novel introduction given that for 2,000 years it wasn’t an impediment. Not much left.)

This old man needs to remove his butt plug and take a much needed dump.

And people wonder why I HATE religons. Nothing but hate mongering hypocrites. Always DICTATING how others should live. And this BS rederick about Gay rights leading to no peace is just BS!We’ve had legal Gay marriage here for many years now. Not only do we have peace, but a much happier population and economy.

Protecting and hiding Pedophiles=OK; Gays=evil. Somehow I can’t reconcile that. Is this math?

As much as I loath it, he’s just as entitled to his opinion as the rest of us. Thankfully, he’s got more people praying for him, than I do.

Whatever one may feel about either abortion or marriage equality for same-sex couples, neither have any relationship to issues of peace. The Pope needs to learn something about the relationship between cause and effect. Furthermore, given that he never married, the Pope can hardly be considered an expert on the issues of marriage and family.

what happened to this article in the Android app? I don’t see it there now. Only on the web site.

Occasionally, the articles rotate away from sight for awhile or lose the comments. I didn’t know that was an Android issue, but you’re probably right.

I hope this gets addressed. I like to keep track of interesting articles and comments to said articles. Now I don’t know if other ones may also be gone. As a computer pro, I have to wonder how this can even happen, since the program just seems to be reading from a database from a site. There has to be "something" that’s causing it to drop articles here and there.

UPDATE. Yup, there’s something odd going on with the Android app, at least. I’ve been reading daily since I install this. Just for curiosity, I scrolled back to the beginning and started to work my way back to today’s date. Interestingly, now I’m seeing some articles that I did NOT see on dates where I read everything. For example, the 13th. Now I’m seeing new stuff there. Perhaps this is the way it works?? Just seems odd. I prefer things to run consistently.
